BOAZ Commodities Limited is marking 11 years in Nigeria's downstream petroleum sector today, built on a track record of consistent pricing and reliable supply to end users, according to Managing Director Ihuoma Okafor.
The Lagos-based company, whose slogan is "Think Energy, Think BOAZ," marks the milestone under the banner "11 Years of Powering Possibilities." It markets and distributes high-value light products, including Automotive Gas Oil, Premium Motor Spirit and Dual Purpose Kerosene, alongside cooking gas, bitumen, industrial chemicals and lubricating oil, with operations spanning retail fuels, bulk supply, safe storage and energy solutions.
The company has maintained its pricing commitments to customers even as suppliers frequently reprice after committing to a figure, adjusting only when suppliers themselves reprice the product. Ihuoma said this consistency, alongside flexibility in responding to market shifts, has kept BOAZ relevant across a volatile decade in the industry.
Rising operational costs and volatility following the removal of fuel subsidy have pushed the company toward more strategic decision-making around margins, timing and risk.
"Protecting cash flow is everything," Ihuoma said, citing it alongside relationships and market information as the three factors that have shaped the company's growth over the past decade.
